Go to the Start menu and click on Settings. Go to System. Click on Troubleshoot and then on Other Troubleshooters. Locate the keyboard section. Click on Run. The PC will scan if there is an internal issue relating to the keyboard and solve the issue for you automatically. If this did not work for you, try the next one.
Note: The laptop was docked and connected to an external keyboard during the entire update process. It might not have installed the driver due to that. Things I've tried: -Restarting. -Uninstalling all devices under "keyboards" category using device manager and restarting (clicked show hidden devices)
About two months later it started again, but without the shutting down thing. When I open the device the keyboard should be usable, which obviously isn't the case. I suspect that it's the lid position sensor, because sometimes, when I close the laptop, the keyboard get's activated, which is signalled by a symbol that appears on screen
